A domain name will only be updated manually if:
- the contact e-mails are inactive.
- there is a conflict of interests between the Domain Owner and the other Guardians
(Domain Owner takes preference)
The Domain Owner is the person/Company/Organisation listed in SECTION 2A
of the Registration Form.
The request for a manual update has to be sent by the Domain Owner to
UniForum SA and must specify the changes that will be made to the Domain
New policies regarding manual updates
In the event of the ticket update system no longer being usable (due to things like invalid e-mail addresses etc),
UniForum SA would consider overriding the ticket system on written instructions from the registrant of a domain name
i.e. the entity listed in 2a of the 'whois' information.
This instruction has typically been in the form of a letterhead. This has sometimes created confusion
as to what this instruction needs to look like, and who is authorised to give this instruction.
From immediate effect, UniForum SA will now accept instructions on a 'Form 2', a copy which can be
found for you perusal here.
The most important change here is the requirement for the instruction to be commissioned.
This will require a trip to the local police station, post office, attorney etc.
As from the end of April 2005, we will only accept manual overrides using the
'Form 2' process.
